BIOGRAPHY

 

Ron is a member of the American Watercolor Society and a Signature Member of The Northwest Watercolor Society and has participated in many classes and workshops taught by artists whose work he admires, including watercolorists Alvaro Castagnet, Mary Gibbs, Stan Miller, Joe Garcia, Iain Stewart, Bev Jozwiak, Eric Wiegardt and Ron Stocke. Ron has also taught watercolor classes at Pierce College and TCC. He has won many awards for his work at juried art shows throughout the Northwest. Much of his painting inspiration comes from the great scenery in the Northwest, including the mountains, beaches and boats. Besides landscapes and cityscapes he also likes to paint portraits and still life. 

 

MATERIALS

 

If you would like to paint along, bring your regular watercolor supplies and a good quality watercolor paper.

 

PROJECT PLAN

 

I will be doing a demo of how I paint a portrait. If you would like to paint also, bring a photo the size you’d like to paint or bring a sketch of the subject on watercolor paper. I will bring a small light table so you can trace the image. Or you can use carbon paper. Eyes, nose and mouth are basically all you need to draw. I will give brief description of the materials I use and my plan of attack. See you there.
