South Hill Artists ✫ May 2025 Newsletter ✫ Issue 74
Greetings to all Current and New SHA Members!
What an inspiring and joyful week it has been—I’m sure everyone who attended Camp Arnold Spring 2025 would agree!
The weather was absolutely glorious, and the energy was just as vibrant.
If you're anything like me and love expressing yourself through your art, then you know how powerful it is to spend time with like-minded creatives. Sharing stories, pausing to reflect, chatting, and of course, laughing together—
it’s these simple moments that recharge our creative spirits.
Creativity lives in every corner of our lives—whether we’re cooking, gardening, nurturing relationships, or simply taking a walk in nature. It’s all about finding ways to express who we are. So breathe in the beauty around you, and let it inspire whatever comes next.
⭐️ Mark your calendars! We’ll be gathering again soon for our annual SHA Potluck Luncheon on June 5, 2025—stay tuned for more details on time and location. In the meantime, get outside and enjoy the warmer days,
the sunshine, and all that nature has to offer!
Warmly,
Doreen Koch Allen - SHA President

One of my favorite ways to create a good quantity of stash papers. Quickly, with the use of stencils and spray paint. I will bring a vast selection of stencils and spray paint

May 12 Mineral Lake 10 - 2 pm $20 per session
Creatives can pile up Unfinished Objects (UFO) or Works in Progress (WIPS). This time is set aside to work on finishing those projects. I will help with creative coaching and loving guiding to your best results. This can include paintings, journaling, yarn crafts, sewing, sculpture or whatever you can think of. Bring what you would like to work on and what you need to finish it.
Abstract Movement Painting *
Sunday June 1, 1-5 pm Maple Valley Woo Hoo $50 (min 3 participants, max 10)
Art has a moving meditation in this class we create a setting to loosen up allow the paint to flow and release the outcomes. Using the principles from Flora Bowley and create a space where we stretch our bodies, use breath work, set intentions, turn on some amazing music and come at our art acrylics with play. Drip paint off the surface, use interesting tools, including our hands, to create lovely and loose starts. My hope is this class is for artists looking for a little bit of space and freedom to play, work through some emotions and just paint with more freedom.
